On September 11th 2011, millions
of people
from coast to coast put
their everyday lives on pause to
remember the devastating attacks
from 10 years to that very day.
Americans tuned in
to news stations
or lined the streets to remember the
victims, comfort
families, honor the
troops, and support one another. September 11th
changed America and 10 years later Americans took the time to recognize
the bravery and sacrifice that followed. If you tuned in
to a local news broadcast on Sunday, you witnessed the 9/11
memorial at ground zero, the new water falls where the north and south
towers once stood tall, the annual reading of the victims names and the
thousands of families placing their hands over their loved ones name,
“to be able to feel them once again.”

Just after noon on September 4th,
President Barack Obama, dressed
in
a checkered button down shirt,
rolled up sleeves and khak pants,
descended Air-force One at Newark
Liberty Airport. One week after
Hurricane Irene, Obama came to
witness the devastation that swept across
the record-breaking, flooded areas of
Paterson and Wayne. Hundreds of
residents lined the streets of Paterson
and Wayne in hopes to meet with President Obama.
